Community Foundation of Greater Memphis Advances Community Investments and Equity Commitments Through New Partnership with Resilia

Partnership to focus on capacity building for BIPOC-led organizations in the region

New Orleans, LA. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, the largest foundation in the Mid-South region, have come together to strengthen nonprofit partners driving social change in the greater Memphis area.

The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis is committed to amplifying grantee voices and elevating equity across the region through a new partnership with Resilia which will equip a cohort of regional nonprofits, all led by leaders of color.

Through this partnership, invited organizations will be able to access Resilia’s multi-faceted capacity building program as they work towards organizational sustainability. The Resilia program helps change makers build mission-facing and back-office capacity while helping elevate stories to drive advocacy and fundraising efforts. This is enabled through a combination of an online platform, unlimited 1:1 nonprofit coaching and peer-to-peer learning models, thereby enabling multiple entry points into capacity building and meeting nonprofits where they are.

“Equity is extremely important to us. We understand that in order to truly see the changes we desire from our investments we must prioritize equity and getting people what they need to fully participate and thrive,” says Aerial Ozuzu, Director of Strategic Grants and Initiatives at Community Foundation of Greater Memphis. “Being in a majority minority city where inequitable access to resources has led to disparate outcomes, making sure that we are doing our part to address these issues is critical to our work.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Community Foundation of Greater Memphis to support and build capacity for BIPOC-led organizations who continue to do transformational work in their communities despite facing innumerable challenges,” says Resilia CEO and Founder Sevetri Wilson.

Through the partnership, Community Foundation of Greater Memphis has also joined Resilia’s flagship ELEVATE initiative, a first of its kind national Funders collaborative comprising 13 Funders and aimed at elevating the capacity and voices of BIPOC-led and BIPOC-serving grassroots organizations throughout the country.
