BeSuccessful Partners with Resilia to Strengthen BIPOC-led and Serving Nonprofits in Houston, Texas

Partnership to focus on providing nonprofits capacity-building technology resources and personalized coaching

New Orleans, La. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and BeSuccessful have come together to strengthen the capacity of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)-led and serving nonprofits throughout the Greater Houston area. 

BeSuccessful’s mission is to bridge the gap between the workforce and the communities in need of training, certifications, social support, and employment opportunities. The initiative focuses on building the capacity of justice-impacted communities to play a greater role in the engagement, treatment, supervision, and support of justice-involved youth and young adults.

As part of the partnership, Resilia will provide a multi-faceted capacity-building program that includes 1:1 coaching, online training, fundraising tools, organizational resources, and peer-to-peer learning to help local nonprofits maximize their impact.

"BeSuccessful is a comprehensive community approach to addressing poverty, violence, and improving the quality of life for residents in District B," says Shunte Deckard, BeSuccessful's Job Coordinator. "Urban Community Network and the BeSuccessful Initiative selected Resilia as its capacity-building platform because of its innovative approach to building up non-profits and helping them when they need it most."

Through the partnership, BeSuccessful has also joined Resilia's Elevate initiative, a first-of-its-kind national learning and action network of 60+ funders aimed at elevating the capacity and voices of BIPOC-led and serving grassroots organizations.

​Its goals are to give residents an opportunity to co-create economic development in their neighborhoods, support local businesses and promote entrepreneurship, refurbish blighted buildings, provide residents with the amenities they need including grocery stores, restaurants, parks, etc., and advance Mayor Turner’s Complete Communities Initiative.
