United Way Suncoast Partners with Resilia to Strengthen Nonprofits
Partnership to focus on capacity building for United Way Suncoast’s strategic community partners
New Orleans, La. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and United Way Suncoast have come together to strengthen the capacity of a cohort of nonprofits throughout Florida’s Suncoast region.
United Way Suncoast’s mission is to provide leadership that improves lives and creates lasting community change by mobilizing the caring people of its communities to give, advocate, and volunteer.
Through the Resilia Funder Program, United Way Suncoast will support Florida-based nonprofit organizations in their five county service area: Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto. United Way Suncoast is committed to strengthening their local nonprofit ecosystem and will be offering Resilia’s programs to their strategic community partners.
Josh Dunn, Vice President for Investments and Partnership at United Way Suncoast, views the support offered by the Resilia Funder Program as an essential part of community building. “Providing grants to support programs will always be a part of our investment strategy,” Dunn says. “In addition, ensuring that our partners have the bandwidth and capacity to sustain themselves and the impact of their programs strengthens the power of those investments.”
“United Way Suncoast’s mission to remove barriers preventing ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families from thriving throughout the Suncoast region aligns with our mission to uplift communities with the most critical needs,” says Resilia CEO and founder Sevetri Wilson. “We are excited about the opportunity to partner with United Way to continue their impact and strengthen nonprofits in the Suncoast region.”
Through the partnership, United Way Suncoast has also joined Resilia’s flagship ELEVATE initiative, a first of its kind national Funders collaborative comprising 28 Funders and aimed at elevating the capacity and voices of BIPOC-led and BIPOC-serving grassroots organizations throughout the country.
